What is hyaluronic acid?
Naturally present in tissue, the main function of hyaluronic acid is hydration and keeping water in our bodies. It is a 100% biodegradable product which can be used to correct and fill wrinkles. The product used by Dr Nelly Gauthier is approved by the FDA.
The effects of hyaluronic acid are immediate and will give you a real burst of radiance.
What are the guidelines for hyaluronic acid injections?
Dr Nelly Gauthier uses hyaluronic acid to:
- Treat surface, medium or deep wrinkles
- Fill unattractive depressions
- Readjust facial volumes and proportions (thin lips, cheeks, temples…)
All patients are unique. Only a thorough examination of the face will make it possible to decide which area to treat as well as which product to use to meet the wishes and requirements of each patient.
How does hyaluronic acid treat facial wrinkles and volume loss?
Hyaluronic acid fills the furrows created by wrinkles and increases volume. It fixes water in the place where it is injected. The result is immediate, and the patient does not have to avoid social interaction. A new radiance will be seen over time.
How does the hyaluronic acid injection session take place?
After a very detailed clinical examination of the face, Dr Nelly Gauthier can suggest this therapeutic treatment to you. Most products contain an anaesthetic to increase your comfort and make the injections almost pain-free. The injections given, as well as the number of products, will be determined by Dr Gauthier after a personalised examination of your face.
Do hyaluronic acid injections leave a mark on the face?
The injections last several minutes and do not leave any marks on the face. At the end of the session, the treated area is sometimes a little red and swollen. The redness will disappear within an hour and the swelling within a few hours. You can reapply makeup.
Very rarely, a blue colour will show on a small area which can be covered with makeup. You can go out the same evening, and you do not need to avoid social interaction with this treatment.
When will the results appear?
Results are immediate. The effects of hyaluronic acid last from 8 to 12 months minimum, but they improve over the course of treatments.
Two injection sessions are often recommended in order to stabilise and refine the aesthetic result.
