{"id":16268,"date":"2017-12-22T14:27:46","date_gmt":"2017-12-22T14:27:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.docteurgauthier.fr\/illustration-du-vieillissement-partie-3-les-structures-profondes\/"},"modified":"2023-06-06T15:43:30","modified_gmt":"2023-06-06T15:43:30","slug":"illustration-of-ageing-part-3-deep-structures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.docteurgauthier.fr\/en\/blog\/illustration-of-ageing-part-3-deep-structures\/","title":{"rendered":"Illustration of ageing part #3 &#8211; Deep structures"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Ageing is an inevitable biological phenomenon which begins around the age of thirty.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/x2V4uHVIeAE\" width=\"100%\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It takes the form of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a\/-skin signs, illustrated in the previous section,<\/li>\n<li>b\/-a more or less significant change in the STRUCTURES BENEATH THE SKIN: fat, muscles and bones.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The structures beneath the skin (fat, muscles, bones) form the shape of the face.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When we are young, the shape is clear and reflects the light.<\/li>\n<li>When we age, the shape flattens and grows hollow, forming deep furrows in places, and the facial volume seems to shift.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong> A &#8211; UPPER PART OF THE FACE <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>1. The forehead becomes flat, and horizontal furrows form as a result of muscle contraction,<br \/>\n2. Between the eyebrows, the relentless contraction of muscles is responsible for the famous \u201cfrown lines\u201d,<br \/>\n3. The temples grow hollow, making the eyes look less open,<br \/>\n4. The eyebrows lower significantly, partly causing the eyelids to droop,<br \/>\n5. Crow\u2019s feet are a sign of permanent muscle contraction<br \/>\n6. The circles under the eyes seem to get bigger and grow hollow, proof of the movement of fats or, indeed, their atrophy.<\/p>\n<h2><strong> B &#8211; MIDDLE PART OF THE FACE <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>1. The under-eye circles extend across the cheek to the tear trough, which crosses the cheek from side to side,<br \/>\n2. The cheekbones become flat and seem to point forwards,<br \/>\n3. Furrows become deeper around the mouth (nasolabial folds), making it look as if it were between brackets, and other furrows cross the cheek vertically,<br \/>\n4. The nasal tip falls and the nostrils rise.<\/p>\n<h2><strong> C &#8211; LOWER PART OF THE FACE <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>1. The mouth gets thinner and looks like it has disappeared,<br \/>\n2. The corners of the mouth reverse, forming so-called bitterness lines which make it droop at the edges,<br \/>\n3. The chin becomes flat and raised whilst hollowing out the furrow beneath the mouth,<br \/>\n4. The face shape loses its sharpness, and hollows form at each side of the jowls which emerge,<br \/>\n5.
